St. Patrick’s Day was about two weeks ago, and this year my “lucky charm” was one of my March beauty subscription boxes. The reason being that the theme of one of my beauty subscription boxes was “lucky charm.” And that theme belongs to none other than Boxycharm. Before I jump into my Boxycharm March 2015 review, let me tell you a little bit about Boxycharm.
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box for the price of $21. Early on the company featured a majority of drugstore brands, but now it features more mid- to high-end brands. I think that the drugstore offers great beauty products, sometimes better than high end, so I like that this box provides a variety of more affordable brands. What sets this box apart from other beauty subscription boxes is the amount of full size items you receive. In each box, you receive 4 full size products and 1 deluxe product.
Boxycharm may have to be my favorite subscription box at the moment!
Here are my thoughts on the products from Boxycharm March 2015…
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray– Travel Size. Value $11
I have never used dry shampoo before so I am excited to give this product a try. This product has great ratings and reviews on Sephora, Ulta and Amazon.
OFRA Eyeliner in Light Beige -FULL SIZE! Value $13
I love how this product looks on the waterline. It really does make your eyes look bigger and brighter. I used to line my waterline with white eyeliner to achieve such effect, however, I felt it looked unnatural. I then tried the tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Inner Rim Liner for a more natural look, and thought it was just okay. This product has blown the others out of the water. It has become my go-to eyeliner for achieving bigger, brighter eyes. I definitely suggest you try out an eyeliner in the color light beige.
LVX Nail Lacquer in Lemondrop-FULL SIZE! Value $16
I had seen the Boxycharm March spoilers and saw that we would receive an LVX Nail Lacquer in 1 of 3 colors. When I saw the picture, I thought to myself “please not the yellow color.” And of course, what’s in my box? The yellow nail polish. I just don’t particularly like how such a color looks on my pale hands.
tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Charmed– FULL SIZE! Value $24
I love this lip tint! It is super comfortable to wear. “Charmed” provides your lips with a sheer pink color that can be built up if you want a more noticeable pink lip. This lip tint has a glossy finish. It is a great lip product for the spring season.
Previse Nutrify Skin Type 1-6 Universal Tonic– FULL SIZE! Value $48
At first I was confused as to the purpose of this skin tonic. After reading the Previse website, I am impressed by its’ many benefits. In short, this product hydrates, lightens and brightens the skin. It also said to be “a light-weight barrier to makeup that may contain parabens, triclosan and other skin irritating ingredients.” I have used it for a few days now and I feel it is too early to judge the effects. I do like the claims though, which is why I plan to add this into my skincare routine. I apply this in the morning and night after I wash my face and before I moisturize. It has a water-like texture and a floral-like scent.
My final thoughts…
As per usual, Boxycharm delivers in terms of value. The total value of Boxycharm March 2015 is $112, and the cost was only $21. I will use all of the products, but one. That one product, you probably guessed it, being the yellow nail polish.
Here is a tarte coupon you can use if you make a purchase from their website. I suggest you try their Amazonian Clay 12 Hr Blush in Exposed.
