One of my current obsessions, among the many, has to be beauty subscription boxes. I currently subscribe to three subscription services: Ipsy, Boxycharm and Glossybox. You can never have just one of anything, right? Some may say this is excessive, but you really do get more bang for your buck. Sometimes the value of your beauty box, depending on the subscription and month, may be around $100 and the price you paid is $21. That is a deal! If you are someone who loves to try out different products and brands, and you love to be surprised, then subscription boxes are the way to go!
I just received my Glossybox February 2015 yesterday and took the day to test out and review the products that arrived in the Valentines Day themed box. I am a sucker for cute packaging, and Glossybox is definitely the winner in this category when compared to my other subscription boxes. Check out what I got inside my Glossybox February 2015!
Every Glossybox contains a fold out card that details the products and offers tips on how to best use them. Here is a closer look at the products, and my thoughts on each.
Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara – FULL SIZE! Value $22
I actually really like this mascara. I wouldn’t say love, but I really do like it. It is perfect for when you want to achieve an everyday natural look or a “no makeup makeup look”. It definitely provides your lashes with length. If you are a girl who lives for super voluminous lashes, then this is probably not the product for you. This mascara stayed on great all day and did not budge. I will definitely reach for this product again.
Royal Apothic Tinties Lip Butter in Pink – FULL SIZE! Value $14
I absolutely adore this lip butter. The packaging is super cute; I love anything with a vintage touch. The product does not disappoint. I was worried that the product would be too bright and pink, but I really like how it looks on my lips. It is sheer, but the color can be built up. And, it is not sticky, thank goodness! This would be such a great lip color choice for Valentines Day.
Julep Nail Color in Hartleigh FULL SIZE! Value $14
I will probably only wear this nail polish for Valentines Day or maybe a little bit longer because this stuff is ridiculously hard to get off. I really like the little hearts in the polish and the iridescent sparkles. It is just a little difficult to make sure hearts apply to every nail with the applicator. Either way, it is a cute polish, and I love themed items so I am happy to add this to my nail polish collection.
And the last two products…
Unwash bio-cleansing conditioner (2.5 oz) Value $6.67
This is probably my favorite product in the box. I have been struggling to find the perfect shampoo and conditioner for my hair, as I often find that certain products make my hair greasy. This did not do such a thing. Forewarning, this shampoo/conditioner does not lather. Some people will not like this. I do not mind this because this hair cleanser does contain harsh sulfates or parabens, which is most likely the reason it does not lather. After I washed my hair, it felt extremely soft and silky. I have extremely flat hair and this definitely added a little bit of volume, which it claims to do. Also, the scent is wonderful. It is fruity, almost cucumber like.
RITUALS Yogi Flow Indian Rose & Sweet Almond Oil Foaming Shower Gel FULL SIZE! Value $15
I feel like you will either love this or hate this due to the scent. I particularly like the scent. This product dispenses as a gel and then turns into a foam, which is quite interesting. The smell lasts on your body all day. I will probably use this occasionally since the scent is similar to a perfume and may be too much for everyday use.
The Glossybox February 2015 totals to be around $70, which is a great deal for the price of $21. Plus, I will use every single product! If you are interested in subscribing to Glossybox, check around for coupon codes. You can get a month, 3 month, 6 month or 12 month subscription!
This is a great gift idea for Valentines Day if you are looking for last minute gift.
