My Ipsy February 2015 bag arrived on Valentine’s Day, which was super exciting. I love when my subscription boxes, especially the themed boxes, arrive before or on the day of the holiday. For those of you who do not know, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Actually, it is a cute little makeup bag for the price of $10.
So, what do you get for $10?
The Ipsy bag is filled with about five beauty products that are either full size or deluxe size. When you sign up for Ipsy, you take a beauty quiz. The beauty products that you are given are based off of your quiz answers. I like that the Ipsy bag is customized to your individual likes, but sometimes I wish it were not. Well, this is only the case when I wish I got one of the products that were not in my bag.
Here is a closer look at my Ipsy February 2015 bag…
Regardless of the design, I always save every month’s Ipsy bag due to its’ functionality. They are great little travel makeup bags. As for this month’s bag, I do not love it and I also do not hate it. I would say the design of the bag is cute-ish.
Here’s what was inside…
eva nyc Up All Night Volumizing Spray (1 oz)- Value $1.50
Any product that claims to provide my flat hair with volume will absolutely be used. I sprayed this into my hair before blow-drying, and it definitely gave my hair some volume or at least I’d like to think so. The scent is fresh. I will definitely being using the spray often.
Model CO Cosmetics Blush Cheek Powder in Cosmopolitan (.12 oz)- Value $9
I am somewhat of a blush addict, so I was glad to receive this product in my bag. As far as my liking for this blush goes, I would have to say that I do not really like it. The sole reason being the color. It is pink, like really pink. This blush color is just not flattering on my fair skin. I really do like, however, the pigmentation and application of the blush. It is super pigmented. One swipe gives you a ton of color.
City Color Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini– FULL SIZE! Value $5
Yikes, the color! Just too pink, way too pink. I would say it is bubblegum pink, which is not flattering on me. The formula, on the other hand, is great. The lip stain is super pigmented and dries to a matte finish.
Mitchell and Peach Floral No. 1 Fine Radiance Face Oil (10 ml)- Value $23
I live for any product that contains natural ingredients, especially when it comes to skin care. This may have to be my favorite product in the bag. The only negative to this product would have to be the dropper. It is somewhat difficult to get the drops of face oil out of the bottle.
Emite Makeup Eyelash Curler– Value $25
I was completely surprised when I saw this product in my bag. I have yet to receive an eyelash curler in any of my subscription boxes, so I was eager to try this out ASAP. My initial surprise and excitement quickly dissipated to disappointment after my trial with the Emite eyelash curler. It just does not compare, even in the slightest, to my current favorite eyelash curler from Tarte. Plus, the Tarte eyelash curler is only $17 and this one is $5 more.
This is definitely not my favorite Ipsy bag. Honestly, I will probably only use the eva nyc Up All Night Volumizing Spray and theMitchell and Peach Floral No. 1 Fine Radiance Face Oil. So, basically this month was a bust right? I would not say so. The combined value of the two products I will use is $24.50, which is more than the $10 I paid. And plus, I will use the bag itself. The total value of the Ipsy February 2015 bag is actually around $63.50.
